Earrings affair

Last evening , while travelling I was thinking about the stuff I could make in less than an hour.So I came up with an idea .. why not make a pair of earrings ?
I looked for felt earrings on etsy and hooked by a very easy to make pair. This pair was for  $34.99
Idea was copied, little thoughts were put into it and here is the result.

What you need :

Felt pieces
A pair of earring hooks
Pieces of Gold color chain
Scissors
Glitter embellishments

How to Make:

Cut felt into leaf shape (3 pieces for each earring). 3 pieces should vary in size .Lowest one should be largest piece and top piece should be smallest. Stack pieces together in a way that top one is smallest piece.
Cut two equal size gold chain pieces and add embellishment on ends of chain.(optional).
In earrings hooks, insert the chain end.
Mark a point on top of felt where earring hanging is to be inserted. Pierce the 3 pieces with a needle or punch and insert the chain part in the hole.
Similarly make another one  to complete the pair.
You can modify shapes and sizes according to your thoughts.

Now you are ready to flaunt these super light and pretty earrings. :) Oh yes.. I hardly takes half n hour to create a pair if you have materials ready with you.

Let me know if you try one. I would love the pictures of your craft.

 Happy crafting.

Baby Block toy

what does a mom makes while watching TV?

A baby block.. - Yes, a play block for baby to explore .
I crocheted 6 sides of block using single crochet and then used felt and fabric and other materials from my craft box.
Its like some unused beads and trims and laces were telling me to use them up . Here comes the result.
I looked for ideas on internet and here's what I created with a mixture of ideas and little thoughts.

Side 1- Nature.. - Leaf and grass to hide the carrot and sheep. Lets see if baby can find them interesting.
littlethoughtfullittlethoughtful
Side 2 - A monster.. which actually gives a tribal look because of the other side's ribbons and beads hanging on a side. Blame my rough stuffing into the block.Sides are falling off on other. But I find it OK. I am satisfied with what it looks like.

Side 3. Weather - Rainbow, Cloud and sun. Sun can hide behind the cloud and can also be pulled out of the cloud.

side 4. Various touch and feel things like thread ,beads , ribbon, flowers, wooden beads.

Side 5. A sort of Caterpillar.. I was trying to make a cute one though. This is what I ended up with.

Caterpillar

Side 6. Elephant with elastic trunk. Sometimes I become so excited with the things .I pulled it so hard that elastic came out of stitching. I'll have to fix that again.Thank God , baby did not see her momy playing around with her toys.

One side with wooden beads , button and ribbon.

Gosh, Lot of stuff in one block. I hope my baby will love it.But I am sure, It can't keep her busy as she has started crawling and now she does not want to sit steady any more. I am still finding a place to hide onions and potatoes rack in kitchen.

Leg Warmers - With Love

Winters, winters... I love winters but my little one may not.. Her cheeks go pink .. tiny fingers go cool and little feet do not want to wear socks all the time.
I keep thinking of anything and everything that can keep her cozy and warm.
So I crocheted 2 pairs of leg warmers for baby.
One of them was shell design all along ( I don't have a picture ) and other one super simple and cute pattern from earning-my-cape .
One very big mistake I did was that one of them is HDC all over (except ribbing) and other one is SC all over. Both of them were not made together.. and I forgot to refer to first one while crocheting the second one.. Yeah I know still it is a huge mistake..bad memory.
I did not want to remake all again so I came up with an idea of making two pairs. So now baby gets 3 pairs. I am super lazy to remake things , I just cover up mistakes. :p
Story does not end here, I had a beautiful and pink soft yarn left over and I wanted to make something cool out of it.
So I crocheted hearts and hand sew them on warmers. That is not why these leg warmers are with love, its because I made them with love. Bad joke..I know..

so here is the picture of what I crocheted.. Mind it, both have different patterns as I told.. Yeah I know.. I am covering that up.. another half pair is in process.

More fun stuff in the progress.. till then happy crocheting.. :) :)

UPDATE : Tried it on DD.. here is how they look...
Pretty!!..aren't these??

Amigurumi Projects

Crochet Turtle

The second project I made is a turtle.

I followed tutorials from crocheteverafter for Turtle Amigurumi and here is the result.

As you can notice, It is the same green colored yarn that I used for making Christmas tree. Yellow yarn was also some leftover in my yarn stock.
My Husband gifted me these googly eyes pack once, and I wanted to make good use of it. I love them onto this turtle. :)

More I am making these projects, More I am falling in love with crochet. Its fun to sit in couch and crocheting whole day when you can not go out in chilly winters.

Will be back with some more fun projects.

Amigurumi Projects

Crochet Elephant

Hello friends,

I am pretty excited to share my two amigurumi projects that I made last weekend.

My First amigurumi Project is the Little Bigfoot Elephant . I followed tutorials from Amigurumitogo
My project turned out fine ( not as perfect as the tutorial ) . But I am satisfied.

Materials needed : Crochet Hook , Yarn, Pair of Scissors, Felt ( for mouth ) , Eyes ( buttons of felt can also be used ).
I used styrofoam balls for the filling instead of yarn scrap or fiber.

Lovely, Isn't it ?  :)

Get Ready for my next amigurumi. :)

Christmas Special

 Christmas Tree-  Crochet

Hey Friends,
Here is one crochet project I made for this Christmas.
I was thinking of making one with yarn.Luckily , I found this Green colored yarn in my stock. Then I was all set to make one.

I tried to follow lot of tutorials available on internet, but I could not make one as I wanted it to be. So , I tried simple chain stitch to create leaves and It was lot easier than I thought.

Used a paper cone base for leaves to rest in place. And a white Lace to wrap onto the tree.

Added a colored pom pom onto its top.

For Decoration, I used anchor thread and crochet hook to make miniatures.

Well, as I am a beginner, and It was my first time , so don't mind the imperfections.
I used some colored beads to make it look more cute.
And there we go.

And Guess what !! I am getting addicted to crochet. I already made two more projects .
See my Amigurumi  Projects for more. :)

DIY B'day Card

DIY Greeting Cards

Hey Friends,

Here is one post I wanted to share about home made birthday cards and gifts.
If you remember, I already posted one for how to make gift boxes out of unused boxes.
Here is similar kind of box I made by gluing Hallmark gold print paper onto a cookie box and pasting some fabric flowers onto it.

and, here is the blue card inside box.
This card is a hanging card, folded into the box and placed with flowers (for decoration ). You May add chocolates or some other small gifts with the card, as per your liking.

Here is the card, unfolded -
For Another card,
I followed a video to make it (also added my imagination into it). It turned out really cute.

For any card , you need simple stuff like :
Colored Pens
Scissors
Zig Zag Scissors
Colored papers ( Plain or Printed )
A pinch of thoughts  ;)
Lot of videos are available on internet for card making. You may simply follow them and make some fun stuff.
( Hanging card was my own thought that I come up with.)

Here is another card.

Pictures are not that good. I was impatient and clicked all of them in night  :p

Hope, You got the idea of making lot of fun cards at home for your loved ones.

Bye for now. :)
